Infrastructure and User Services
The Dutch research & open water testing infrastructure (NL-MARINERG-i) is part of a larger European scientific collaboration (MARINERG-i) to accelerate the research development and deployment of wave, tidal, offshore wind, solar and combined Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) technologies. Building on the existing community developed in the FP7 MaRINET and H2020 MaRINET2 projects, NL-MARINERG-i contributes to a global scientific community with a broad base of expertise and knowledge across disciplines. At its disposal will be the facilities, tools and e-infrastructure necessary to support research in ORE as a core activity within ocean and engineering science.
Examples/description of the type of research
While NL-MARINERG-i facilities remain under their own management, new research opportunities are attracted in these themes:
- Resource characterisation and environmental loading;
- Design, Power Take-Off and performance characterisation/optimisation;
- Cross-cutting and material testing;
- Research for testing
How to access the infrastructure ?
This is the main access portal, in which clients will be able to browse, search and apply to infrastructures that correspond to their needs. The access portal for MARINERG-i is intended as a one-stop shop for end-users, which facilitates and speeds-up the application process. By using a standardized application process across different infrastructures relieves the end-user of having to adapt their proposal at every step of the testing programme. Testing facilities will also benefit from the use of a streamlined application process
