Research infrastructures include equipment or collections of instruments, archives, collections of scientific data, e-infrastructures and data infrastructures. Large-Scale Research Infrastructures (LSRI) are research infrastructures that are freely accessible to researchers and have a budget of at least 10 million euros in terms of capital investment and operational costs over a period of five years.
The LSRI Landscape provides an overview of LSRIs available to researchers in the Netherlands and to which the Netherlands contributes to the construction or establishment of the LSRI. All research infrastructure that meets the definition of an LSRI is included in the LSRI Landscape, regardless of the funding sources used to finance the LSRI. The LSRI Landscape covers the entire spectrum of scientific research.
Inclusion in the LSRI Landscape raises the profile of the LSRI among potential users. In addition, the LSRI Landscape is also important for policymakers and government departments in making decisions and formulating strategies for the funding of research infrastructure (e.g. the National Roadmap for LSRI).
Registering for the LSRI Landscape
You can register by completing and submitting an online questionnaire. Registration is open on an ongoing basis. Registration consists of two steps:
- Complete the online questionnaire and click ‘Submit’. Please provide details for only one infrastructure per form. For distributed GWI projects, we ask that you submit just one form on behalf of all partners. If you have any questions about completing the form, please contact us.
- Ask the board or the director of the research organisation acting as the official secretary of the (prospective) LSRI to email a cover letter.
Twice a year, the PC-LSRI discusses the applications received at its meeting. You will then receive confirmation as to whether or not you have been accepted into the Landscape.
Instructions for completing the online questionnaire
- The number of questions in the questionnaire depends on the stage your research infrastructure is at.
- Questions marked with an asterisk (*) are compulsory.
- Please note that your answers will not be saved when you close the session. It is therefore advisable to prepare the questionnaire before completing it. The full questionnaire is available for download in PDF format.
- If you wish to change your answers after submission, you can edit your questionnaire responses online. You can do this by opening the submitted form in your account and using the ‘edit form’ function. Please inform the NWO LSRI team of any changes via pc-gwi@nwo.nl.
